An easy way to make a neat wire tie look more stylish and functional is to put it in a drawer.
If you want to be practical when it came to the end of a piece of wire, a drawer is a good place to put them.
“If you have to put the wire in a specific place, you might as well put it into a drawer,” says Dr. Caroline Aitken, the Director of Nursing at the Dublin Hospital.
She says, “There’s a definite visual cue to the drawer.”
In the UK, there are two categories of wire ties: “C” and “D.”
The C category is the standard wire tie type used for sewing.
A C wire tie is usually attached to a thread of a fabric and can be pulled into place using a sewing machine or hand tool.
D wire ties are also made by sewing a single thread onto a metal plate.
In Ireland, you’ll usually see the C category of wire tie in the UK and in the US as well.
What you need to know about the C wiretie category: A wire tie should not be worn when it is not needed.
The wire tie can become tangled and may slip off the end if not secured.
It should not cause any damage to the garment.
There are two kinds of wire.
A standard wire is made of woven, woven-dyed cotton.
C is made from a mixture of cotton and linen.
When made from linen, the wire will stretch and become tighter.
You’ll see this type of wire as the “sneaker wire.”
When used for sewn fabrics, you need a minimum of two inches of tension to make the C-type wire.
When making the D-type, you will need more.
This type of cording is made by attaching a second, thicker piece of metal to a metal pipe, or to a strip of metal.
